Meet Cadmond: Inspiring Curiosity and Connection Across Cultures

We’re excited to introduce Cadmond, one of Elev8’s inspiring summer camp teachers who embodies the spirit of curiosity, communication, and cultural connection that makes Elev8 Japan unique. His international background, growing up between Japan and Singapore, shaped his love of language, his empathy for others, and his belief that learning is about discovering both the world and yourself.

A Childhood That Sparked Global Curiosity

Born in Japan, Cadmond moved to Singapore at just six years old, attending a local school and immersing himself in new languages, foods, and customs. Surrounded by classmates from diverse backgrounds, he became fascinated by how culture shapes communication.

That early experience inspired his lifelong interest in language and cross-cultural understanding.

"I was born in Japan and moved to Singapore when I was six. That’s where I fell in love with learning about other languages and cultures."

Learning to Belong

When he returned to Japan, Cadmond sometimes struggled to fit in. But those challenges became the foundation for his empathy and open-mindedness. In high school, he found a community where everyone had a unique story, and for the first time, he realised that belonging comes from embracing difference. That insight now defines his teaching style, one that values individuality and encourages students to celebrate their own stories.

Bringing Global Connection to Elev8

At Elev8 Holiday Camps in Tokyo, Cadmond brings his multicultural background directly into the classroom. Whether leading English conversation, cultural exchange projects, or collaborative games, his goal is to help students build confidence and connection through curiosity.
